Grade 6-8
Skills for Adolescence (SFA) is a comprehensive life skills and prevention program designed to help middle school students, their parents, and teachers to navigate the physical, emotional, and social challenges of early adolescence. The program strengthens essential competencies and social-emotional skills by fostering positive attitudes, respect, and responsibility—while guiding young people toward healthy choices and a lifestyle free from drugs, bullying, and violence.
Through a series of age-appropriate thematic units and structured lesson plans, SFA supports the creation of a school and classroom environment that encourages positive student behaviour, ultimately contributing to stronger academic success.
Empowering Teachers to Support Student Well-being
As children transition into adolescence, Lions Quest equips teachers to help students understand how their values and beliefs shape their developing sense of self. This process nurtures deeper, more meaningful social connections while encouraging prosocial behaviours within classrooms and communities.
Students gain:
- A stronger sense of identity
- Greater empathy and understanding
- Improved collaboration skills
- The ability to make responsible decisions
- A foundation for respectful, positive relationships
These skills support students in becoming confident, caring, and capable young people who contribute positively to their schools and communities.

Implementation
The primary focus of Lions Quest in India Foundation (LQIF) is to reach every child and equip them with essential life skills grounded in Social and Emotional Learning (SEL). The program aims to extend its impact by effectively implementing it across schools and communities by trained and certified educators.
Lions Quest is designed for students from Grades 1–8 and follows a progressive, age-appropriate, student-centred approach. Schools are encouraged to conduct 28–36 sessions per academic year for Skills for Growing (SFG) and Skills for Adolescence (SFA), facilitated exclusively by certified teachers at the primary and secondary levels.
Schools are required to allocate a 40-minute period, scheduled once or twice a week, preferably within the regular timetable along with other curriculum subjects. Enrollment is automatic for all students, with an option for parental opt-out. Each student receives a grade-specific journal and a Family Connection Book to reinforce learning at home.
LQIF provides books and materials at nominal costs to ensure wide access. The Family Connection book encourage stronger family bonds through simple, enjoyable shared activities after each session in class. Additionally, periodic parent meetings form an integral part of the implementation process, helping families stay informed and engaged.
Assessment & Evaluation:
Evaluation is a vital component of the program and includes pre- and post-implementation assessments, along with before-and-after comparisons of school discipline, attendance, and academic performance.
Additional evaluation methods include teacher observations and student self-reflections, supported by closure questions and techniques provided in the curriculum guides. Together, these approaches help measure student understanding, skill development, and overall program impact.
Lions Quest Skills For Growing curriculum materials soon will be available in regional languages like- Hindi, Marathi, Gujarati, Urdu and Bangla Languages.
